Role Overview

We seek an experienced Mobile Application Tester to validate the quality, functionality, and user experience of mobile apps on Android and iOS platforms. This role involves both manual and automated testing to ensure superior mobile user interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop test plans, scenarios, and cases based on requirement analysis for mobile applications.
Conduct manual testing across Android and iOS devices.
Perform various testing types including functional, regression, smoke, sanity, user acceptance, and exploratory testing.
Assess mobile-specific features such as push notifications, app installation/uninstallation, device compatibility, and network condition adaptability (2G to 5G and Wi-Fi).
Verify UI/UX consistency, gesture responsiveness, screen resolutions, and device orientations.
Execute compatibility testing across diverse devices, OS versions, and screen dimensions.
Track, log, and re-test identified defects utilizing tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, and Azure DevOps.
Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and designers within Agile or Scrum team environments.
Perform API testing validating communication between mobile apps and back-end services.
Monitor and evaluate app performance factors such as stability and battery consumption.

Essential Skills and Experience

Solid expertise in testing Android and iOS applications.
Comprehensive understanding of mobile app life cycles and mobile UX design guidelines such as Material Design and iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
Familiarity with testing on real physical devices and emulators or simulators.
Proficiency with test management tools including JIRA, TestRail, and ALM.
Experience using API testing utilities like Postman, Charles Proxy, and Fiddler.
Knowledge of device cloud platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, and Firebase Test Lab.
Preferred experience with automation testing tools, particularly Appium on Android and iOS.
Understanding of Selenium coupled with Appium, and testing frameworks like TestNG, JUnit, and Cucumber.
Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
Basic programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Additional advantage from understanding mobile performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner), mobile security testing (OWASP Mobile Top 10), and offline/online sync testing scenarios.

Meticulous attention to detail with a quality-focused approach.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications such as ISTQB or Mobile Testing Certification are beneficial but optional.
Experience working with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Background testing mobile applications in sectors like banking, e-commerce, healthcare, or fintech is advantageous.

Eligibility Criteria

The position welcomes candidates holding degrees such as B.Tech, B.E., B.Sc., or B.C.A. in any specialization.
