Operations Budget Manager

Position Overview

As a vital contributor in the Operations Budget Section, you will manage the Army's operational budget, coordinating closely with sub-budget controllers to combine inputs and guarantee the prompt delivery of precise financial reports. You will spearhead the development and enforcement of spending policies that encourage financial discipline and responsible use of funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer the Army-level operations budget, ensuring it aligns with strategic goals and utilizes data analytics for well-informed decisions.
• Partner with budget controllers to merge budget submissions, securing accurate and timely reports enhanced by insights from Power BI dashboards.
• Assist in crafting and evaluating multi-year budget plans, annual budgets, and quarterly reviews, employing Power BI to monitor trends and detect discrepancies.
• Develop and execute financial management policies to bolster governance and encourage prudent expenditure based on data-driven insights.
• Track budget usage across units, suggesting corrective measures when needed, with Power BI facilitating visualization of spending patterns and risk prediction.

Challenges

• Collaborating consistently with Finance Officers and stakeholders across departments to uphold regulatory compliance, while appreciating operational needs to conduct accurate and equitable evaluations.
• Maintaining and updating the Power BI dashboard to keep data current and pertinent, delivering timely analyses that inform leadership decisions.

Candidate Profile

• Academic background in finance-related fields such as Accounting, Business, or Economics.
• Preferably a minimum of two years’ experience in finance roles within sizable organizations; however, candidates without experience are also welcome to apply.
• Advanced skills in data analytics, with a strong command of Power BI preferred.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, cooperative team member possessing a high level of integrity and awareness of security protocols.
