The UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences is the first public pharmacy school in the Los Angeles-Orange County area. Its faculty and curricula cover a broad spectrum from foundational drug discovery and development to optimizing medication therapy in clinical settings. Degree programs include BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, MS in Pharmacology, PhD in Pharmacological Sciences, and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). The school collaborates closely with medical, nursing, and public health programs as part of the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences to prepare the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists and clinical pharmacists. The mission focuses on enhancing individual and societal health and wellness.
Role Overview
The PharmD Applicant Evaluator will utilize standardized rubrics to conduct thorough reviews of Doctor of Pharmacy admissions applications submitted through PharmCAS. Responsibilities include evaluating personal statements, assessing prerequisite academic performance, and judging applicants' overall readiness for the PharmD program. Additionally, this role involves conducting structured interviews with applicants and rating their responses based on established criteria.
Qualifications and Success Factors
- Prior knowledge and experience with PharmD graduate admissions processes
- Proficiency with the PharmCAS application system
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Possession of at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience or training
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting
Contract and Compensation
This opportunity is a 12-month contract position operating remotely. Compensation is offered at a rate of $15 per application reviewed.
