Press Helper/Material Handler

Position Overview

ProAmpac is seeking dedicated Press Helpers/Material Handlers to support operations within its Ontario, Canada facility. This role involves assisting on the press machinery and handling materials to facilitate smooth production processes.

Work Schedule and Compensation

The role follows an alternative work schedule featuring a rotation between four and three consecutive 12-hour shifts. Both day and night shifts are available. Compensation begins at $19 per hour, with an additional $1.75 per hour for night shifts worked past 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain ownership of assigned cleaning areas to align with corporate and facility standards.
• Perform daily cleaning and assembly of parts such as chambers, pans, lids, mixers, and filters using the parts washer.
• Identify any worn or damaged anilox rollers, reporting them promptly to supervisors for resurfacing.
• Operate washers and solvent distillers to support production while reducing hazardous waste; transfer waste to DOT-approved drums and manage their proper labeling and storage.
• Conduct cleaning and inspection tasks consistent with SQF/AIB compliance requirements.
• Create and manage audits and rotating schedules focused on rebuilding chambers and assisting with production changeovers.
• Schedule and execute preventative maintenance on equipment including parts washers, anilox laser cleaners, and solvent recycling distillers.
• Assist with machine changeovers and perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisors or Leads.
• Provide supervisors with feedback regarding equipment performance or production concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental standards and regulations.
• Enforce safety protocols within the plant and department, including completing weekly safety observations.
• Participate actively in monthly Behavior Observation Programs by completing two observations each month.
• Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices, as well as all regulatory and compliance mandates.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
