Role overview
An opportunity has opened for an ICT Procurement & Contracts Officer to support a Queensland Government organisation on a 12-month initial contract. The position sits within a collaborative procurement function and focuses on delivering full-cycle procurement and contract administration across a mix of technology projects and operational work.
You will contribute to both routine sourcing and more complex ICT procurement initiatives, working closely with ICT leaders, vendor management teams, finance, and shared services. The role suits someone who is comfortable handling detailed procurement processes, engaging with senior stakeholders, and ensuring all outcomes comply with Queensland Government procurement requirements.
The role reports to the Procurement & Contracts Manager.
Key duties
- Own and coordinate ICT procurement activity from initiation through to completion
- Draft procurement plans, evaluation approaches, and tender documents
- Support RFQ and ITO activities through contract award
- Work with stakeholders to define scope and plan procurement activities
- Help run evaluation sessions and negotiate contract terms
- Prepare briefing papers and procurement advice for senior decision-makers
- Administer contracts, including processing extensions and variations
- Keep procurement files, records, and supporting documentation up to date
- Collaborate with finance, shared services, and vendors to keep procurement operations moving
What will help you succeed
- Proven background managing ICT procurement end to end
- Sound understanding of Queensland Government procurement rules, frameworks, and policy settings
- Experience handling complex ICT sourcing and contract administration work
- Capability in preparing tender packs, evaluation plans, and contract documents
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with a range of stakeholders
- High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
- Ability to juggle priorities and deliver to deadlines in a busy environment
Highly regarded experience
- Recent ICT procurement experience in a Queensland Government environment
- Familiarity with QITC contract templates
- Exposure to SAP and SharePoint Online
- Background supporting ICT contracts, software renewals, and technology procurement initiatives
