About the Role
BEC Arabia invites applications for the position of Procurement Officer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is crucial for sourcing and managing vital supplies for major construction and infrastructure undertakings in the region. Responsibilities
- Create and execute procurement strategies aligned with project needs and company objectives.
- Identify, assess, and select suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and compliance with project standards.
- Conduct negotiations to finalize contracts securing optimal pricing and timely deliveries.
- Manage procurement budgets carefully to control expenses and meet financial goals.
- Collaborate with project teams to verify material and equipment requirements are met on schedule.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance records.
- Ensure adherence to Saudi regulations such as Saudi Labor Law and GOSI, along with other relevant standards.
- Work alongside QA/QC to confirm procured items meet quality and specification benchmarks.
- Utilize procurement management software to enhance operational efficiency.
- Generate and deliver procurement status reports to senior management highlighting key performance indicators.
- Address and resolve supplier or vendor disputes promptly and professionally.
- Stay informed on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging suppliers to maintain competitiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least five years’ experience in procurement roles, preferably within construction or engineering sectors.
- Proficiency in procurement platforms such as SAP, Oracle Procurement Cloud, or similar tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of Saudi Labor Law, GOSI requirements, and procurement compliance.
- Proven skills in contract negotiation and vendor relationship management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- Analytical thinking and adept problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
- Experience working on large-scale projects under Saudi Vision 2030 or comparable initiatives.
- Understanding of sustainable procurement and green building certifications such as LEED or Mostadam.
- Familiarity with BIM-integrated procurement workflows.
- Advanced degrees like an MBA in Supply Chain Management are an added advantage.
