About the Role

The Production & Inventory Planner will coordinate various functions within the plant to craft and implement detailed production schedules. As a member of the planning team, this individual will be responsible for formulating, disseminating, and ensuring the punctual execution of materials and production plans that align with operational and customer satisfaction objectives. The key focus areas include planning, monitoring, controlling, and executing the build schedule, while offering support to team leaders and collaborating across functions.   • Distribute kits weekly following allocation rules.
  • Assess shortages and their effects on schedules weekly.
  • Coordinate with Buyers to manage supply chain activities, including expediting material deliveries to uphold production plans.
  • Engage daily with Team Leads and Customer Service regarding schedule adjustments or missed shipments.
  • Disseminate a rolling three-week production plan weekly to business units.
  • Monitor production planning performance metrics and issue weekly reports.
  • Identify and communicate capacity constraints or bottlenecks.
  • Maintain Work In Progress (WIP) volumes within agreed limits.
  • Generate and distribute inventory management and related reports as determined.
  • Evaluate excess or obsolete inventory on the shop floor and ensure integrity of work orders.
  • Handle Material Review Board (MRB) issues and participate in Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Collaborate on projects and continuous improvement initiatives with business unit teams.
  • Manage demand through due diligence, performing 'what-if' analyses before customer agreements.
  • Validate updates and changes to demand before and after entering them into the system.
  • Review Master Demand Schedule (MDS) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) weekly, analyzing changes, capacity loads, and material risks.
  • Coordinate component material call-offs supporting production plans consistent with inventory policies and vendor management procedures.
  • Partner with Engineering to establish product lead-times, analyze constraints impacting customer lead-times, and pursue reduction efforts.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Quality Assurance and Safety

  • Maintain compliance with quality standards and applicable industry regulations.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety legislation and policies.

Personnel Specifications

  • Certification at NFQ Level 6 in Business Administration or a related materials field, or equivalent experience.
  • APICS certification or progress toward obtaining it is desirable.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to multitask with effective organizational capabilities.
  • Competency in PC usage, with advanced expertise in Oracle and Excel.
