Project Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking to hire two Project Engineers for our Dubai location. This full-time, on-site position requires the individual to support planning, coordination, and execution activities for construction projects. The role involves reviewing technical drawings and specifications, overseeing project progress, and ensuring all construction work abides by design, safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction activities and monitor project execution on site.
• Ensure all construction tasks follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality benchmarks.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, construction managers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Review technical and shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and other project documents.
• Track project progress including scheduling, manpower deployment, materials, and resource allocation.
• Assist in developing project schedules, compiling progress reports, and preparing technical documentation.
• Conduct frequent site inspections to monitor quality and construction progress.
• Identify and resolve technical, operational, and coordination challenges on the project.
• Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental policies, quality standards, and UAE regulations.
• Coordinate inspections, approvals, testing procedures, and adherence to authority requirements.
• Evaluate and monitor subcontractor performance to confirm achievements align with project expectations.
• Support project and construction management teams in meeting milestones and ensuring successful project delivery.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Proven minimum of 8 years experience in construction or project engineering roles, ideally within the UAE or Middle East region.
• Certification or accreditation from Dubai Municipality and/or Abu Dhabi Municipality is mandatory.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UAE construction regulations, authority procedures, building codes, and standards.
• Strong ability to liaise and coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and government authorities.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, project documents, and method statements.
• Sound understanding of project planning, scheduling, quality control, and construction processes.
• Excellent communication, technical reporting, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Steel Structural Accreditation or Certification is a desirable advantage.
• Trakhees accreditation/certification is considered a plus.
