Project Lead - Digital Transformation

Role Overview

Join Saint-Gobain Group in India as a Project Lead spearheading digital transformation projects aimed at industrial automation. This role involves designing and developing advanced applications to improve plant operations through innovative software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct digital transformation initiatives focusing on industrial automation and control systems within the company.
• Develop applications utilizing Ignition Vision and Perspective modules to create effective HMIs, dashboards, and reporting tools for operational insight.
• Build scalable components, templates, scripts, and functions to support widespread deployment.
• Manage configuration of alarms, trends, and historian modules critical to plant monitoring.
• Interface with PLCs and various industrial devices through OPC UA and employ protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and Profinet to ensure reliable communication.
• Maintain consistent and efficient data transmission from the shop floor to enterprise IT systems.
• Craft and fine-tune SQL queries on MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL for optimal database interaction.
• Design robust database schemas catering to MES and SCADA applications, including tasks related to data modeling, indexing, and performance enhancements.
• Integrate Ignition platforms seamlessly with ERP, business applications, and third-party systems.
• Provide troubleshooting for applications, databases, and connectivity, striving to guarantee high system availability and performance.
• Coordinate system upgrades and version controls in collaboration with regional teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of 3 to 4 years’ professional experience in industrial automation and control systems.
• Expertise in industrial communication protocols including OPC-UA, MQTT, and Modbus.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and their integration with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Strong skills in data analytics supported by practical knowledge of analytics tools and methodologies.
• Hands-on knowledge and experience using Ignition software tailored for SCADA and industrial application development.
• Proficiency in Python programming for scripting and automating tasks.
• Well-versed in managing MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving aptitude combined with solid analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
