Role overview

This is a full-time, on-site Project Manager position in Addis Ababa. The role focuses on guiding projects from the first planning stages through final completion while keeping scope, timeline, budget, and quality under control. The project manager will coordinate people, information, and resources to keep work moving efficiently and to ensure delivery standards are met.

What the role involves

• Create clear project plans and define how work will be executed.
• Organize tasks, timelines, and team responsibilities.
• Work closely with expeditors and logistics teams to keep materials and resources available when needed.
• Track project progress through regular meetings, updates, and reporting.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to keep everyone aligned.
• Identify risks and issues early, then coordinate solutions to reduce delays or impact.
• Oversee inspections and help ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Use resources wisely and look for ways to improve project execution over time.

Requirements and preferred background

• Solid experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk control, and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to handle expediting tasks such as following up on orders and ensuring materials arrive on time.
• Knowledge of inspection processes used to check quality, compliance, and safety standards.
• Experience in logistics coordination, including transportation, warehousing, and delivery planning.
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related subject is an advantage.
• Project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are beneficial.
• Prior experience in construction, infrastructure, or similar project environments is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, plus familiarity with project management tools and MS Office.
• Ability to work well with varied teams and communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in Addis Ababa.
