Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Generate, release, and track purchase orders according to agreed processes and approvals.
• Monitor supplier acknowledgements, delivery timelines, overdue shipments, and open order statuses to ensure prompt aftermarket spare part supplies.
• Engage with suppliers to clarify order progress, delivery priorities, shortages, pricing, and documentation needs.
• Provide planners, customer service, warehouse, and technical teams with updated information on part availability, estimated deliveries, and supply risks.
• Assist in expediting urgent orders and escalate supply challenges that might affect customer commitments.
• Keep purchasing data accurate, including confirmation records, supplier lead times, delivery updates, and contact details.
• Support tracking and evaluation of supplier delivery and lead time performance.
• Identify and suggest improvements to purchasing efficiencies, minimize administrative delays, and enhance communication across the supply chain.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, ethical guidelines, and internal controls.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and follow up reliably.
• Strong communication skills with confidence to professionally interact with suppliers and internal teams.
• Attention to detail, especially regarding part numbers, purchase orders, pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
• Basic commercial understanding and enthusiasm for purchasing, supply chain, and supplier management activities.
• Problem-solving aptitude to proactively identify and escalate risks.
• Comfortable handling data, reports, spreadsheets, and business information systems.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues and contribute to team goals.

Experience and Educational Qualifications

• Prior exposure to purchasing, supply chain, customer service, logistics, planning, or administrative roles is preferred but not mandatory.
• Background in aftermarket, spare parts, manufacturing, engineering, distribution, or service sectors is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with familiarity in general business systems.
• Experience with ERP or purchasing software systems is beneficial.
• Self-driven with ownership over follow-up tasks and a keen desire for career development in purchasing and supply chain.
• Customer-oriented, recognizing that part availability impacts service delivery.
• Adaptable in a fast-changing aftermarket environment with shifting priorities.
