Role Overview
This position involves supporting the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager by performing laboratory and in-process quality evaluations to ensure raw materials, packaging, and finished product conform to established quality and food safety standards. The role requires meticulous completion and management of food safety and quality documentation while ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AIB, HACCP, GMP, and hygiene practices on production lines. Additional administrative support related to quality tasks is also expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out sampling and testing of raw materials, packaging, and final products to validate adherence to quality and food safety criteria.
- Execute routine quality checks during production processes, promptly reporting any discrepancies or deviations to QA management and production staff.
- Accurately record, validate, and maintain important quality and food safety documentation both in physical and electronic formats ensuring traceability and timely filing.
- Consistently and safely implement laboratory, hygiene, and factory protocols aligned with GMP, HACCP, AIB, and site-specific food safety mandates.
- Perform internal inspections focusing on GMP, housekeeping, and foreign materials, documenting and reporting issues that could affect product quality or safety compliance.
- Provide precise test results, inspections, and quality data to assist the QA Manager and production teams in product acceptance decisions.
- Contribute to the Quality and Food Safety Team's efforts in troubleshooting, corrective measure implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support quality documentation control, administrative follow-up, and any assigned duties by the QA Manager.
Qualification Requirements
- Completed Grade 12 National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices within the food production sector.
- Familiarity with Food Safety Standards including FSSC and AIB.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in the food manufacturing industry.
