Role Summary
This full-time Quantity Surveyor position is based on-site in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. The role focuses on producing and checking Bills of Quantities, assisting with tender documentation, and reviewing quotations from subcontractors and suppliers. The successful candidate will be involved in cost forecasting, budget oversight, reporting on project spend, and maintaining effective cost controls throughout the full project cycle.
In addition, the role requires regular coordination with project managers, site personnel, and outside stakeholders to ensure financial records are accurate and contract obligations are met. The position also includes supporting risk reviews, value engineering initiatives, and the close-out of final accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify Bills of Quantities for construction works.
- Support tender compilation and related commercial documentation.
- Assess quotations received from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Plan and monitor project costs to keep spending within budget.
- Produce cost updates and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Apply cost control measures across the lifecycle of each project.
- Work with project managers, site teams, and third parties to track financial progress.
- Assist with contract compliance, risk assessment, value engineering, and final account settlement.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of cost control and cost management.
- Hands-on experience with BOQ preparation and cost planning for estimating and tendering.
- Ability to create precise and easy-to-understand cost reports.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, building regulations, and standard industry practices.
- Proficiency with quantity surveying or cost management software.
- Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial tracking.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for on-site collaboration.
- Experience on residential or commercial construction projects is beneficial.
