Role overview
Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and running smoothly. This role focuses on day-to-day cleanliness, deep cleaning, and preventive upkeep of the building and equipment.

What the job involves
- Finish all training required by Zax LLC.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and well-kept restaurant environment.
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks and basic maintenance work.
- Clean restaurant equipment regularly and perform preventive maintenance.
- Check equipment, run tests, and look for signs of malfunction.
- Handle minor lighting repairs.
- Do thorough cleaning duties, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
- Read and follow equipment manuals and work orders.
- Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures and outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building to catch issues early.
- Complete small repairs when needed.
- Understand safety rules, procedures, operating instructions, and related documents.
- Keep maintenance logs accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Follow Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC standards, policies, and procedures.
- Work safely at all times and follow all safety guidelines.
- Stay flexible and be ready to take on work beyond the listed duties when needed.
- Report HR and risk-management concerns immediately to the General Manager and District Manager.
- Escalate other concerns to a supervisor when appropriate.
- Handle any other tasks needed to keep restaurant operations functioning properly.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- For full-time employment, availability must be 32 to 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Leadership ability, strong organization, and cooperative teamwork skills are required.
Work conditions and physical demands
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
- Occasional stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing, including ladder use.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Continuous hand and wrist use for gripping and detailed movement.
- Clear communication through speaking, reading, and writing.
- Good visual and audio awareness to observe and respond to surroundings.
- Work both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to hot and cold conditions and food and outdoor allergens.
- Safe operation of restaurant equipment, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools and machines.
