Overview
This role requires overseeing daily retail store operations to ensure efficient functioning and excellent customer service at a physical location. Remote work is not permitted for this position, which demands hands-on supervision and management.
Education and Language
- Completion of secondary (high) school education.
- Proficiency in English for communication.
Experience
Applicants should have between 1 and 2 years of relevant work experience in retail or a supervisory capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of 5 to 10 staff members including apprentices and sales workers.
- Delegate tasks and assign duties to sales personnel.
- Manage inventory through ordering merchandise and organizing stock.
- Authorize merchandise returns and handle cash management.
- Establish and maintain work schedules for store employees.
- Sell merchandise and prepare detailed reports related to sales volume, merchandising, and personnel.
- Address and resolve operational issues such as customer complaints, supply shortages, and other challenges.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Function effectively in a fast-paced retail setting with tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Handle heavy loads requiring physical strength and manual dexterity.
- Work involves a combination of sitting, standing for long periods, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Must be able to distinguish colors accurately.
