Role Overview

As a Shop Supervisor, you will work closely with our dedicated team preparing fresh ingredients and assembling sandwiches, baguettes, and other food items per the company's standards. This role involves overseeing the daily shop operations in partnership with the Shop Manager, leading the team, boosting sales, managing costs to deliver profit, and fostering a loyal customer base. Training aligned to Wenzel’s standards will be provided with clear opportunities for career development and advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers warmly, creating a hospitable environment.
  • Receive and inspect daily product deliveries for accuracy and quality.
  • Assist in managing branch inventory including stock and produce.
  • Maintain attractive and well-organized shop displays.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all products offered.
  • Prepare food items following detailed company specifications.
  • Perform rigorous quality control on food and produce.
  • Maintain stringent hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of the team.
  • Handle cash transactions and operate the till proficiently.
  • Open and close the shop when required.
  • Manage shifts at various times throughout the week.
  • Drive sales growth while minimizing wastage.

Requirements and Preferences

  • Prior experience in supervisory roles within retail or customer service environments is mandatory.
  • Experience in food production is beneficial but not essential due to comprehensive training offered.

Compensation and Work Schedule

The role offers a pay rate of £13.00 per hour, with a typical working week comprising 39 hours spread over five days between Monday and Sunday. While shop hours are fixed, the company is open to considering flexible scheduling to support employees' needs.
