What you'll do

• Design, build, and test software products and applications.
• Work with Uber's technology stack to create, improve, and validate software solutions.
• Use technical judgment to assess complex data, ongoing developments, and project details, then recommend fixes for technical challenges.
• Help keep business operations running smoothly and contribute to higher engineering productivity.
• Develop software components that can be combined into complete, working systems.
• Investigate and resolve production issues affecting product reliability and system stability.

Experience and qualification details

Uber will consider candidates with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline, along with 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the same role or a related one.

Required technical background

• At least 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: C++, Python, Java, GIT, or SVN.
• At least 5 years of experience working with SQL or MySQL.
• Strong background in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience designing technology stacks.
• Experience debugging and monitoring production services.
• Knowledge of distributed systems.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
