Role Overview
This role is centered around managing NUS Enterprise's PIER71 Landing Pad—a structured soft-landing program providing start-ups with promising technologies and a strong commitment to growth. The manager will focus on delivering support through mentorship, fundraising, market entry, and ecosystem connectivity to help start-ups thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the PIER71 Landing Pad initiative, continuously designing and refining offerings aimed at accelerating start-up progress in areas such as revenue generation, capital acquisition, team building, and market expansion.
- Evaluate program effectiveness by tracking outcomes like revenue growth and strategic collaborations, recommending improvements accordingly.
- Develop and sustain a comprehensive start-up engagement strategy and calendar that enhances participation in mentorship, peer learning, and ecosystem events across all PIER71 activities.
- Oversee complete relationships with Landing Pad start-ups to ensure strong engagement, high retention, satisfaction, and accurate monitoring of key metrics.
- Coordinate start-up onboarding and offboarding processes in conjunction with Finance and Administrative teams, ensuring efficient documentation and procedures.
- Manage Landing Pad contributors, such as mentors and domain experts, by fostering active participation through mentoring sessions, workshops, and investor readiness support.
- Maintain open communication and provision of resources to contributors, enabling effective support delivery.
- Cultivate partnerships with maritime-related entrepreneurship organizations and government-linked bodies in North and South America, supporting the inbound market entry of international start-ups and outbound expansion of local start-ups in these regions.
Candidate Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience working within the start-up ecosystem development or a related capacity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and gain buy-in from diverse and multicultural stakeholders, including founders, mentors, investors, and institutional partners.
- Strong organizational abilities with capacity to handle multiple tasks and see projects through from inception to completion.
- Demonstrated experience aligning start-up support activities with measurable organizational outcomes.
- A collaborative team player who can rally support for initiatives and contribute effectively across functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience within maritime or deep-tech sectors is advantageous.
- Experience with cross-border start-up support or market entry programs, particularly involving the Americas.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, or related fields.
