Position Summary
The Technical Business Analyst role serves as a vital link connecting business operations with software development. This position integrates business analysis, process optimization, systems examination, and quality assurance to guarantee that technology solutions effectively fulfill business needs.
Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the individual will work collaboratively with executives, department heads, developers, and vendors to collect requirements, enhance business workflows, support software development efforts, and oversee validation of system upgrades via testing and user acceptance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document both business and system requirements.
- Convert business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and process flowcharts.
- Examine current business processes and propose technology-based improvements.
- Act as intermediary between business users and development teams throughout project phases.
- Oversee software implementations, upgrades, and system integrations.
- Design and perform test plans, including regression testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Identify, log, and track software bugs and coordinate with developers for resolution.
- Create process documentation, training guides, and user manuals.
- Develop reports and dashboards to facilitate data-informed decision-making.
- Offer application support, troubleshoot system issues, and assist business application users.
- Present finalized enhancements to stakeholders ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Support Agile project management activities such as sprint planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or similar fields, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business analysis-related roles including Technical Business Analyst or Systems Analyst.
- Proven expertise in eliciting business requirements and documenting functional specifications.
- Strong background in analyzing business processes and designing workflow enhancements.
- Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile frameworks.
- Experience in creating and executing testing strategies, regression testing, and UAT procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communicator capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics.
- Knowledge of SQL, ERP systems, business intelligence/reporting tools, and tools like Azure DevOps is advantageous.
- Experience or understanding of transportation, logistics, or dealership operations is preferred.
