About the role
We are looking for a committed Tenancy Relationship Manager to support a varied portfolio of community and disability-focused housing in Auckland. In this position, you will be the main contact for tenants and their whānau, fostering reliable, respectful, and inclusive support throughout the tenancy journey.
Your work will centre on helping tenants feel secure, connected, and able to succeed in their homes and communities. You will handle tenancy matters thoughtfully, prioritise positive tenant experiences, support community connection and tenant wellbeing, maintain property standards, oversee tenancy end processes, and use an early-intervention approach to sustainable debt management.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for tenants and their whānau, maintaining trusted and respectful relationships.
- Provide responsive tenancy support that is inclusive and people-focused.
- Manage day-to-day tenancy issues with care and professionalism.
- Support tenant wellbeing and encourage community connection.
- Ensure properties remain properly maintained and fit for tenants.
- Coordinate tenancy finalisation and exit processes.
- Identify and address debt matters early to support long-term tenancy sustainability.
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience in residential tenancy management, with working knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulations.
- Strong administrative capability, including record maintenance, account handling, and preparing reports.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is preferred.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to listen carefully, show empathy, and adapt your style to different people.
- Confidence in resolving conflict and building trust and rapport.
- Clear commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understanding of Te Ao Māori.
- Strong organisational skills, including prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing several responsibilities at once.
- Ability to work independently, follow established processes closely, and stay effective under pressure.
- A clean, current full New Zealand driver's licence is required.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Auckland. A competitive salary is offered, along with a work vehicle and carpark.
