Utility / Dishwasher

Overview

SSP America is seeking individuals for the Utility / Dishwasher role at several restaurant locations in Calgary International Airport, including Belgian Beer Cafe, Bistro on the Bow, The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, Stack & Press, Bad Egg, Wander by Chef Nicole Gomes, and Mi Casa.

This position requires working in a secure airport environment where candidates must hold a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) and be authorized to work in Canada. Government-issued documents complying with Transport Canada regulations will be verified during onboarding.

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive guest experience by cleaning and sanitizing work areas diligently.
• Maintain cleanliness on all surfaces and equipment such as floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, and storage areas.
• Remove garbage to assigned disposal locations efficiently.
• Clear and reset dining tables between seatings and transport service items to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Scrape food remnants from dishes, pots, and pans, wash by hand or use dishwashers, and return items to proper storage.
• Use specialized chemicals and possibly heavy equipment to clean equipment thoroughly to meet sanitary standards.
• Assist guests with special requests and communicate these to servers or supervisors.
• Manage food items by stocking, dating, rotating, and checking temperatures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 6 months of prior experience in retail or food service is preferred.
• High school diploma is desirable but not mandatory.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Possession of a valid food handlers permit as required by law.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and work in confined spaces.
