Role Overview
The Utility Janitor position involves working on a 14-day on, 14-day off rotation schedule and is critical to maintaining cleanliness and organization at the site. Reporting to the Lodge Manager, the role focuses on upholding company standards for safety, quality, and site upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect communal areas such as gym, recreation room, boot room, and front lobby
- Handle garbage and recycling collection and disposal
- Perform floor maintenance tasks including sweeping and mopping
- Sanitize public washrooms thoroughly
- Maintain cleanliness of management offices and front desk area
- Daily collection and disposal of trash from dormitories to designated sites
- Manage laundry collection, distribution, and oversight within the camp
- Conduct scheduled utility inspections on camp assets
- Troubleshoot and resolve utility-related problems such as clogged toilets, leaking faucets, and cosmetic equipment repairs
- Replace items including doorknobs and light bulbs as needed
- Cut and test keys for all doors as required
- Hang or remove wall-mounted items
- Inspect, clean, and replace filters when necessary
- Provide transportation for staff members
- Carry out additional duties as assigned
Candidate Profile
- Possess a valid G driving license
- Experience operating light power tools
- Able to perform well in fast-paced and busy work environments
- Capable of working independently while maintaining focus on duties
- Previous experience in hotel or camp settings is advantageous
- Good verbal and written communication abilities
- Physically able to push, pull, and lift items up to 50 pounds
