Facility Overview

Rosewood Lifecare is a 64-bed care home in Linwood, Christchurch, offering rest home dementia care, hospital-level care, and specialized psychogeriatric services. It is a diverse community with team members from various backgrounds united by empathy and dedication to caring.

Role Summary

We are looking for an Activities Coordinator to join our team full-time (at least 32 hours/week), working Monday to Friday at our North Linwood location. This role involves planning, organizing, and delivering activity programs designed to address the physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive, and emotional needs of our residents. The coordinator will facilitate outings, events, and community group involvement to enrich residents’ lives.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement personalized activity plans that meet residents' diverse needs.
• Organize and lead events, outings, and social activities fostering community involvement.
• Collaborate with team members to provide a safe, caring environment that supports residents' well-being.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families (whānau), enhancing their quality of life.
• Support and contribute to a positive and cohesive team dynamic.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience in caring roles, preferably within aged care.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Valid New Zealand driver's license with the confidence to drive a van.
• A sincere passion for assisting others, coupled with strong customer service skills and a positive demeanor.
• Commitment to continuous learning and a good understanding of health and safety standards.
