Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

Position Overview

Compensation and Benefits

• Progressive ACA premiums beginning at 7%, rising by 1% every three years to a maximum of 11%

Requirements

• Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License (M2 preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably endorsed on Boeing 737 and/or 787 and/or Q400 aircraft or comparable
• Robust technical skills with expertise in airframe, powerplant, and flight control systems
• Legal authorization to work in Canada (Canadian passport, permanent residency, or valid open work permit with PR process underway)
• Capability to obtain a Radio Licence within six months of starting employment
• Physical ability to lift up to 62 lbs and to perform tasks involving sitting, kneeling, and standing for prolonged periods
• Comfort working in varied environmental conditions including temperature extremes, confined spaces, heights, and noisy settings
• Maintaining a positive fit test for wearing safety and respiratory protective equipment
• Willingness and ability to work shift schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and necessary overtime
• Ability to travel for coverage during base absences or emergency rescue trips
• Proficiency with computer systems including maintenance tracking software and Microsoft Office applications

Conditions of Employment

• Must acquire and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) from Transport Canada
• Obtain and sustain Airside Vehicle Operator Permits (AVOP); must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Pass physical and fitness assessments, inclusive of audiometric testing
• Successful completion of police criminal background checks
• Clear result on pre-employment drug and alcohol screening tests per WestJet safety policy
