Role overview
The Ministry of Justice in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to help support and improve important digital services. This position is focused on Microsoft-based tools and platforms, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, and suits someone with at least 2 years of relevant hands-on experience. The role sits within a growing digital services team that supports strategic platforms used across the Ministry.
You will collaborate with technical colleagues and a wide range of business stakeholders to keep applications running smoothly, resolve issues, and help identify underlying defects and problem records. A good understanding of Ministry processes and the way Justice services are delivered will be important in this position.
Key duties
- Support business users so they can get the best from SharePoint, Microsoft 365 applications, and Azure DevOps.
- Work with users and stakeholders to handle incidents, service requests, and other support needs.
- Collect information that helps identify defects, track problems, and improve application support processes.
- Maintain support documentation, performance statistics, and reports.
- Contribute to the delivery and support of digital solutions across strategic platforms.
- Work closely with IT specialists and business teams across the Ministry.
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will bring strong application support experience and a practical approach to learning new tools and systems. Experience with SharePoint solutions and/or PowerShell would be an advantage, and there should be a willingness to build capability in advanced Microsoft 365 products such as Purview and Power Platform. Clear communication, good service mindset, and ongoing curiosity about the products you support are important.

Salary
The salary for this position is expected to be between $82,770 and $112,332 per year, depending on skills and experience.
