The dredging branch has evolved from basic dredging to comprehensive services including maintenance, capital, and environmental dredging, remaining the largest in this field for over twenty years.
Job Purpose
The role of Assistant Manager - Operation TSHD is key in ensuring efficient and reliable dredging equipment management through regular maintenance, quick troubleshooting, quality assurance, and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute systematic maintenance of dredging equipment, oversee spare parts inventory, and ensure swift reaction to machinery breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
- Assist in upkeep of standby equipment subassemblies and promptly resolve equipment faults to maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Support planning of vessel movements, coordinate crew activities, and optimize resource allocation for smooth execution of operations.
- Contribute to production data analysis, compile Management Information System (MIS) reports, and assist with SAP-related data processing for effective management.
- Lead emergency preparedness drills, enforce health, safety and environmental standards, and foster a strong safety culture within the team.
- Stay informed on latest digital and artificial intelligence technologies to improve operational efficiency and uphold competitive advantage.
Stakeholders
Internal collaboration primarily includes working closely with Superintendents overseeing Operations and Technical aspects of TSHD. There are no specified external stakeholder engagements.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Candidates should possess a graduation degree, engineering diploma or degree (B.Tech/B.E.), or hold a Second Mate Certificate of Competency.
- A minimum of four to six years of experience in marine operations is essential, preferably within dredging activities.
- The role demands a minimum of four to six years of sailing experience onboard dredgers serving as operator or watchkeeping officer.
