Role overview
This is a newly established leadership opportunity for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner who wants to guide a growing team, strengthen clinical standards and contribute to organisational development. The position sits within a collaborative leadership group and combines people leadership, mentoring and workforce planning with hands-on clinical work.
The organisation has over 20 years of experience in allied health, operates 14 clinics across NSW and Tasmania, and employs more than 200 professionals. The role is based in Hobart and relocation support may be available for suitable interstate candidates.
Key leadership focus
- Promote accountability against KPIs, billable targets and clinical quality expectations.
- Support the delivery of evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support services.
- Ensure day-to-day practice aligns with internal policies and recognised best-practice frameworks.
- Create individual development plans that help clinicians build their careers.
- Assist team members to expand caseloads and progress professionally.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring and constructive performance feedback.
- Build a workplace culture that is supportive, inclusive and positive.
- Introduce initiatives that improve engagement, retention and staff wellbeing.
- Maintain a clinical caseload of about 21 billable hours each week.
- Model high standards of service delivery and step in to support complex client needs when required.
About you
You should be a confident, collaborative leader who can help clinicians perform well while maintaining strong care standards. The role suits someone who is comfortable balancing leadership duties with a live clinical caseload and who enjoys developing others.
Essential experience and capabilities
- At least 4 years of experience in Behaviour Support or another allied health clinical setting.
- Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding performance expectations.
- Strong ability to lead, coach and mentor others.
- Experience supporting staff development and managing performance improvement.
- Solid understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and NDIS frameworks.
- Strong communication, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage leadership responsibilities alongside client-facing work.
Required checks and registrations
- Minimum Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner registration.
- Current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- National Police Check.
- Medicare Provider Number, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Willingness and ability to travel across multiple sites as needed.
