About the Role
Parados Consulting's affiliate partner in the UAE seeks a Business Analyst on a short-term contract to support a prominent Abu Dhabi conglomerate. The role focuses on cataloging and analyzing data sources across various business functions to enable the expansion of an AI platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and document data sources within Operations, Finance, Procurement, and HR, detailing locations (systems, databases, files, third parties), ownership, data format, and quality at a descriptive level.
- Lead structured interviews and workshops with departmental stakeholders to gather clear business requirements for expanding the AI platform.
- Create documentation following client standards (including data catalogs and requirement templates) to directly assist the IT team's API design and construction.
- Collaborate with the IT team during API development by clarifying data sources, validating field-level information, facilitating business data access, and assisting in testing and validation of platform data flow.
- Maintain a comprehensive log tracking open questions, decisions, and dependencies for each department involved.
Out of Scope
- Developing solutions or AI models, prompt engineering, system configuration, AI strategy or maturity assessment.
- Vendor evaluations and providing advisory inputs at the board level.
Candidate Profile
- Essential: 2-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst across multiple functions such as Operations, Finance, Procurement, and HR.
- Proficient in data discovery—identifying, mapping, and describing data sources and ownership without needing direct system access.
- Experienced in conducting structured interviews and workshops with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strong documentation skills adhering to standardized templates, producing clear and consistent deliverables like data catalogs and RAID logs.
- Ability to interface effectively with technical teams to translate business inputs into formats supportive of API design, without direct involvement in API development.
- Excellent stakeholder management capabilities, ensuring timely follow-up, access, and approvals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Desirable: Experience in data or AI/analytics platform projects as a non-technical business analyst, familiarity with data cataloging concepts, and prior work in Operations, Finance, Procurement, or HR.
Engagement Details
- Initial contract duration: 3 months, with possibility of extension based on project progress.
- Reporting to the Client's Head of IT and programme lead.
- Deliverables include detailed data catalogs per department, documented business requirements, and maintained logs of open items, decisions, and dependencies.
