Business Data Analyst

Role Overview

We seek a skilled Business / Data Analyst responsible for thoroughly comprehending how Temenos T24 core banking data is utilized in current reporting and analytics. This understanding will guide the definition of business and data needs essential to the Temenos Insight data migration and modernization effort. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across business, finance, regulatory reporting, and channels to catalog all reports, dashboards, extracts, and use cases; link each to the underlying T24 data and transformation logic; and specify requirements to ensure continuity and validation of new solution outputs against legacy systems.

This role supports the Temenos Insight migration project, distinct from any ongoing Azure Databricks data lake initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate discovery workshops with both business and technical stakeholders to collect detailed reporting and analytics requirements.
• Identify and document all existing reporting, analytics, and regulatory reporting use cases and dependencies.
• Capture comprehensive details on business users, data consumers, ownership, and downstream system connections.
• Record business objectives, reporting needs, and criteria for success.
• Develop an inventory of operational reports, dashboards, regulatory documents, and analytic products.
• Trace reports and dashboards back to their source data in T24/Temenos Insight, including transformations and embedded business rules.
• Analyze complex data features like multi-value fields and assess data consumption models.
• Spot redundant reports and suggest opportunities for consolidation.
• Gather granular data on metrics, dimensions, and requirements for historical data retention.
• Set reporting schedules, latency expectations, SLAs, and compliance mandates.
• Document interdependencies between business workflows, reports, and data assets.
• Evaluate current data quality, availability, system performance, and reporting limitations.
• Assist planning efforts for migration, continuity of reporting, reconciliation, and validation tasks.
• Advise on priority settings for migrating reports and data categories.
• Collect and document future requirements to support ongoing modernization and analytics enhancement.
• Maintain comprehensive reporting inventories, detailed use-case documentation, and governance artifacts.
• Create functional documentation intended for architecture, engineering, testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) teams.
• Support UAT by validating migrated reports against the original Temenos platform outputs.

Eligibility and Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Technical Business Analyst, preferably within banking or financial services sectors.
• Proven ability in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and data requirements as well as developing detailed source-to-report mappings.
• Practical skills with SQL and business intelligence/reporting tools, preferably Power BI.
• Sound knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and analytics frameworks.
• Background in data migration or reporting modernization projects is advantageous.
• Experience with core banking platforms, especially Temenos T24, and familiarity with central bank regulatory reporting is highly valued.
