Business Intelligence Analyst

Role Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst is essential in driving data-supported decisions across Alpine Bank by developing and managing financial and operational reports, performance dashboards, forecasts, and analytical models. This position collaborates closely with finance, accounting, and business leadership to analyze data from various sources to reveal trends, refine reporting processes, and offer actionable insights that advance the bank’s financial goals, operational effectiveness, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert raw data into clear insights by designing, developing, and maintaining reporting tools, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
• Engage with business units to assess their data requirements and explore opportunities for reporting enhancements.
• Collaborate to create tailored business intelligence presentations, ranging from ad-hoc reports to Microsoft Power BI dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Analyze information from diverse databases to produce dashboards and metrics that identify trends or irregularities.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting cycle, long-term financial planning, and periodic forecasting through analytical modeling and reporting tool development.
• Review existing business unit reports and propose technological upgrades or improvements to empower data-driven decision-making.
• Coordinate testing, quality assurance, and validation of dashboards and presentations with business units.
• Ensure integrity, consistency, and alignment of data across all reporting systems.
• Apply advanced methodologies and continuously enhance processes.
• Participate in shaping the bank’s long-term business intelligence strategies.
• Maintain strong collaboration across all business areas within the bank, particularly finance teams.
• Commit to ongoing learning about emerging technologies, banking trends, and analytical techniques.
• Maintain punctual and dependable attendance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, profitability assessments, and financial performance reporting.
• Familiarity with banking financial statements, KPIs, and regulatory filings is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Power BI and Azure Fabric for database design and reporting.
• Working experience with SQL scripting.
• Strong leadership qualities combined with creativity and sound judgment.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
• Ability to cultivate collaborative relationships and promote teamwork.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Business, or relevant certifications.
• Minimum two years of experience utilizing Microsoft Power BI.
• At least three years’ experience in business analyst or business intelligence roles.
• Holding or eligibility for a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License.

Working Environment & Conditions

This role operates primarily within a professional office setting using standard office equipment including computers, telephones, and multi-function printers. Travel to conferences, meetings, and branch locations may be required regularly. The position demands participation in semi-annual disaster recovery drills and occasional application updates during weekends or evenings. On-call, after-hours, and weekend support may also be necessary.

Physical demands include regular communication and hearing activities, primarily sedentary tasks, and visual requirements involving close and distance vision as well as color discernment. The employee may be required to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Compensation

The starting salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, contingent upon experience.
