Cleaner

Role Overview

This position is based at Glyntaff Campus in Pontypridd, Wales, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM. As a cleaner, you will be essential in upholding a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere at OCS locations, benefitting clients, colleagues, and visitors alike. You will be responsible for maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene according to set standards, workplace safety rules, and company principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, and emptying bins as per site directives.
• Clean welfare facilities, offices, hallways, restrooms, and other designated spaces to meet quality standards.
• Ensure restocking of supplies like toilet paper, hand towels, and soaps as needed.
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, COSHH, and cleaning protocols consistently.
• Operate cleaning tools and chemicals safely and properly.
• Notify supervisors about any maintenance concerns, damages, or safety hazards.
• Complete assigned duties efficiently within specified time limits.
• Maintain a professional and polite demeanor when engaging with clients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Assist with any additional location-specific cleaning tasks as instructed by management.

Candidate Requirements

• Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check.
• Prior cleaning experience in commercial, public sector, or related environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials.
• Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Capability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Dependability, punctuality, and adaptability in work scheduling.
• Able to comprehend and follow instructions and procedures effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities Management or contracted cleaning services.
• Familiarity with COSHH regulations or safe handling of cleaning chemicals (training available).
