Customer Delivery Driver

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver representing Tesco on the road, you will be meeting customers at their residences daily, delivering more than just packages—offering excellent service with a friendly attitude. This position is hands-on, physically engaging, and diverse, with each shift providing unique challenges. While much of the day is independently spent, a supportive management and colleague team is always available at base.

Working Hours

• Sunday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Monday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Thursday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Friday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the van, trays, and workspace to ensure every customer's order is delivered in perfect condition.
• Load the delivery van safely, perform roadworthiness checks, and prepare the vehicle for efficient service.
• Communicate any order modifications, substitutions, or soon-to-expire items to customers in a courteous manner, offering refunds when necessary to ensure a smooth, positive experience.
• Handle all products with exceptional care to uphold quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders within assigned time slots, providing warm and natural customer service at the doorstep to ensure customers feel appreciated and well cared for.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Ability to foster strong relationships with colleagues to promote team spirit and superior customer service.
• Friendly and welcoming demeanor towards customers and teammates.
• Adaptability to rapidly changing customer requirements and willingness to embrace change both on the road and at the store.
• Possession of a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
