Role overview

As a Data Analyst in the remediation space, you will help deliver large customer remediation initiatives through data-led investigation, impact identification and outcome development. You will work with substantial and complex datasets, mainly in Teradata SQL, to investigate issues, analyse anomalies and assess customer impact. The position requires close collaboration with stakeholders across business, risk, compliance and technology to ensure work is accurate, efficient and aligned with regulatory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out complete data analysis work for customer remediation programmes.
• Identify affected customer groups and measure impact through in-depth data investigation.
• Perform root-cause analysis on customer, product and system-related issues.
• Design, test and confirm remediation approaches and payment calculation methods.
• Investigate customer anomalies, exceptions and platform-related queries.
• Prepare insights and reporting that support remediation decisions and governance needs.
• Assist with risk, compliance and audit activities using strong data controls and validation practices.
• Develop effective working relationships with stakeholders across business, risk and technology functions.
• Share findings and recommendations using reporting and data visualisation tools.

What you need to succeed

• Prior experience as a Data Analyst in banking, financial services, risk, compliance or remediation settings.
• Background supporting customer remediation programmes, regulatory reviews, risk investigations or customer outcome work.
• Strong SQL capability, ideally in a Teradata environment.
• Experience analysing large, complex datasets in detail.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, especially for root-cause analysis and impact assessment.
• Python experience for analysis, automation or validation is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with reporting or visualisation platforms such as Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of data governance, risk frameworks and regulatory obligations.
• Knowledge of retail banking products and remediation processes will be an added advantage.
