About the Role

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of the global AWS infrastructure, ensuring continuous service availability for AWS customers. The team supports all data centers and the associated hardware and systems needed to deliver reliable cloud innovation. This role sits within the EMEA Non Traditional Environment Physical Security Team and is focused on driving security excellence within critical infrastructure environments, particularly data centers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate security activities with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Supervise the activities of contracted professional security guards.
Engage and assist vendors during system repairs and new security system installations.
Monitor security vendor deliverables, ensure service compliance, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
Educate data center business units and stakeholders on security posture, processes, and procedures, including false alarm reduction strategies.
Analyze security data and metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Ensure security operations adhere to global standards and policies.
Design and recommend enhancements for electronic surveillance and access control systems.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on physical security operations status.
Collaborate with management to develop and implement security procedures and policies.
Act as an advocate for customers, identifying security vulnerabilities and proposing innovative, standards-compliant solutions.
Work a rotating 24/7/365 shift schedule to support continuous operations.
Comply with regional security requirements, including EU citizenship and residency conditions due to sovereign cloud region regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience managing security operations and working collaboratively with security vendors or contractors.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Security, or equivalent relevant experience.
Mandatory EU citizenship and residency requirement for this role.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with security hardware such as intrusion detection systems and access control technologies.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays within a 24/7 operational environment.
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at various organizational levels.
Experience in managing multiple projects with efficient prioritization and time management.
