Role Summary
The position involves hands-on development and operational support of rack management software tailored for AI accelerator systems in large data centre deployments. The focus is on delivering high-quality code, performing debugging, testing, and ensuring reliable software functioning close to hardware.
Collaborative work with lead engineers and architects across multiple locations, involvement in design discussions, taking ownership of implementations, and addressing complex technical issues in production environments form key parts of the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software for rack provisioning, monitoring, and workload deployment.
- Interface with rack hardware components such as BMC, PDU, CDU, and PCIe switches, using protocols like Redfish, SNMP, and IPMI.
- Integrate rack management software with orchestration tools including Kubernetes, Terraform, and Foreman.
- Collaborate with ODMs, ISVs, and internal teams to ensure scalable rack software solutions.
- Create dashboards and unified telemetry systems leveraging Prometheus and Grafana.
- Support functions such as firmware updates, crash dump analysis, and remote diagnostics for rack components.
- Maintain secure boot processes, VLAN isolation, and Quality of Service for multi-tenant environments.
- Contribute to electronic Bill of Materials (EBOM) and protocol documentation with partners like Pegatron.
- Write clean, secure, maintainable code adhering to company coding standards and best practices.
- Engage in design reviews, providing feedback focused on feasibility, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Lead debugging and root-cause investigations for complex issues spanning development, integration, and production systems.
- Work alongside architects, lead engineers, and hardware/firmware teams to ensure smooth system integration and correct behavior.
- Implement observability features such as logging, metrics, and distributed tracing to aid troubleshooting and operational stability.
- Develop documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures related to owned software.
- Participate actively in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of build, test, and deployment workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in infrastructure software development.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and shell scripting.
- Experience working with Redfish APIs and Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.
- Strong understanding of server hardware components, networking, and storage systems.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within a globally distributed multi-site team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Node.js development is advantageous.
- Experience with rack management software tools.
- Knowledge of AI workload orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (K8s) and RKE2.
- Experience with monitoring and visualization tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Understanding of rack-level lifecycle management.
- Experience with provisioning and configuration management tools including Foreman, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
- Working knowledge of Go programming language is a plus.

Minimum Eligibility
- For Bachelor’s degree holders: minimum 2 years of software engineering or related work experience.
