Role Overview

As a Data Scientist at JD.com, you will focus on transforming large datasets into actionable business insights and developing advanced machine learning models to enhance personalization, recommendations, and analytical capabilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and product managers, will be key to enabling data-driven decisions and improving customer engagement internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement predictive models and advanced analytics to boost customer segmentation and recommendation systems.
• Interpret and analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, growth prospects, and product enhancement opportunities.
• Work with data engineering teams to maintain clean and accessible datasets for experimentation and model deployment.
• Design and execute robust A/B testing methodologies to evaluate algorithm and feature performance.
• Communicate technical findings in an understandable way to influence product and business strategies.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in machine learning, natural language processing, and AI, applying them to solve practical e-commerce problems.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or applied analytics.
• Advanced programming skills in Python, R, or Scala, along with expertise in statistical data modeling.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong understanding of experimentation design, A/B testing, and causal inference.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to present complex analyses to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills

• Background in global e-commerce platforms, especially in personalization or recommendation engine development.
• Knowledge of big data technologies including Spark and Hadoop, as well as cloud ML services like AWS Sagemaker, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure ML.
• Experience with natural language processing or computer vision in large-scale system applications.
