Director, Operations

About the Role and Company

The Director of Operations will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across a vast, multi-location contract logistics portfolio within a globally renowned transport and logistics company. This role involves mentoring a team of General Managers, collaborating with commercial and business development units, and leading strategic business growth and operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce a comprehensive strategic vision and governance structure for multi-site logistics operations.
• Work collaboratively with Commercial, Business Development, and Solution Design teams to support business expansion, facilitate major Request for Proposal processes, and ensure successful deployment of large-scale new accounts.
• Lead long-term organizational structure planning and workforce strategy to ensure operational agility and leadership capacity for scaling.
• Champion regional or national strategic projects, including those focused on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability policies.
• Be accountable for consolidated profit and loss management, financial forecasting, and profitability enhancements across all managed sites.
• Conduct executive steering committee meetings and act as the primary escalation point for global and regional client leadership.
• Plan and strategize for space optimization, infrastructure investments, and capital expenditure initiatives aimed at automation and facility improvements.
• Drive systemic transformation by creating cross-departmental cooperation among operations, engineering, IT, and human resources to improve service delivery and reduce staff turnover.
