Drafter - Architectural Millwork

Overview

KVM Designs LLC, a company focusing on premium commercial architectural millwork, is seeking a knowledgeable Drafter skilled in Microvellum software to join their Buford, GA team. This role demands expertise in interpreting architectural drawings and transforming them into detailed, precise shop and production drawings to facilitate fabrication and installation.

Key Duties

• Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and finish schedules accurately.
• Generate detailed woodwork shop drawings and production/build drawings for manufacturing.
• Design custom millwork elements including casework, wall panels, reception desks, countertops, and laminate features.
• Collaborate with project managers and production teams ensuring seamless project execution.
• Detect and resolve drawing inconsistencies, missing elements, and construction challenges.
• Update drawings to reflect architect feedback, field measurements, and project modifications.
• Ensure all drawings meet the required standards for accuracy and readiness for production.
• Prepare jobs for shop and CNC production processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior experience drafting architectural woodwork or commercial millwork projects.
• Proficiency in Microvellum drafting software is advantageous.
• Strong ability to read and comprehend architectural plans and details.
• Understanding of millwork fabrication, finishing, and on-site installation procedures.
• Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Capability to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD are essential.
