Role Responsibilities
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of the layout and design for all guest and back-of-house areas, including operational protocols.
- Ensure all machinery is consistently maintained and operational at all times.
- Adhere to shift duties according to the department roster.
- Supervise and maintain engineering plants and hotel equipment aligned with the preventative maintenance schedule daily, weekly, and monthly, under guidance from the Assistant Director of Engineering (ADOE).
- Engage actively in team-building initiatives within the department.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inventories, and reports.
- Keep up-to-date equipment logs and maintain regular communication with ADOE and Director of Engineering (DOE).
- Manage shift operations including reporting, inventory control, and maintenance requests.
- Be well-versed in the company’s Safety Management System duties, including emergency response activities.
- Understand and execute hotel fire emergency procedures effectively.
- Carry out other engineering tasks assigned by the DOE and provide support to internal and external customers as available.
- Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans for mechanical equipment and facilities.
- Compile reports highlighting progress, identifying negative trends, and presenting suitable recommendations or conclusions.
- Estimate project resource requirements such as time, cost, lumber, and supplies, and initiate requisitions accordingly.
- Inspect completed works to verify conformity with blueprints, specifications, instructions, and relevant laws; direct corrective actions if necessary.
- Consistently report to duty punctually with proper uniform and identification badges.
- Ensure all personnel are well-prepared and knowledgeable about the hotel's emergency procedures and readiness for emergencies.
- Be familiar with company documentation and operational standards related to the position.
- Participate in Task Force Teams for new property openings and undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management.
- At least three years of experience in a comparable engineering role within hospitality.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent interpersonal and training abilities.
- Effective communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering operating systems.
