EHS Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an EHS Manager to join our manufacturing facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This leadership position will oversee and enhance Environmental Compliance, Process Safety, and Occupational Health & Safety programs, ensuring alignment with global standards and the organization's Zero Harm culture. The role involves active collaboration within a global EHS network, engaging with subject matter experts and the EHS Center of Excellence.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and persuasive EHS leader who challenges existing practices, fosters a strong safety culture, and interacts effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels. A combination of technical EHS proficiency, excellent communication skills, and the capability to influence site leadership and operations teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment and continuous enhancement of the site’s EHS Management System, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal regulations.
• Serve as the site's chief EHS leader and contact point for Environmental, Health, Safety, and Process Safety issues.
• Maintain full compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety, and process safety laws; prepare for regulatory inspections and audits.
• Champion the Zero Harm initiative and cultivate a robust safety culture through visible leadership and employee engagement.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), risk assessments, and hazard identifications, managing effective mitigation measures and closure of outstanding actions.
• Support critical process safety programs such as Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and enforcement of safe work standards.
• Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses, performing thorough root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and disseminating lessons learned.
• Oversee essential safety programs including Permit to Work, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), contractor safety measures, confined space entry protocols, working at heights, and chemical handling procedures.
• Monitor environmental performance metrics, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, waste management policies, emissions controls, and pollution prevention strategies.
• Deliver EHS training, coaching, and awareness programs aimed at strengthening accountability and safety practices among employees and contractors.
• Prepare, present, and communicate performance reports, compliance updates, risk summaries, and action plans to site leadership and relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
• Between 5 and 10 years of practical experience in EHS roles within chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, or similar high-hazard manufacturing sectors.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
• Deep understanding of EHS management, Process Safety, Risk Management, and Environmental Compliance.
• Proven track record of advancing safety culture, managing EHS programs, and leading continuous improvement efforts.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and performing root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influence skills.
• Capability to operate autonomously in an independent EHS leadership role.
• Certification such as OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent recognized international EHS credentials.
• Familiarity with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and Process Safety Management (PSM) is preferred.
