Role Details

This full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, requires an Electrical Engineer responsible for the design and development of low-voltage switchboards and panel boards. Key duties include creating electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and equipment layouts; performing calculations related to power distribution and protection; selecting suitable components; and ensuring adherence to electrical codes, standards, and customer requirements. The role also demands working closely with production, quality assurance, and project teams to support manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting activities. Additional tasks involve reviewing technical documents, preparing reports, and engaging in initiatives aimed at enhancing performance, safety, and cost management.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong electrical engineering knowledge and understanding of core electrical principles and practices.
• Expertise in electrical design, especially in preparing schematics, layouts, and documentation for LV switchboards and panel boards.
• Practical experience in power distribution and power systems within industrial or commercial settings.
• A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; professional engineering licensure or eligibility is beneficial.
• Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and CSA, including safety and compliance regulations.
• Proficiency in ECAD software tools and common office applications; prior experience in manufacturing or panel board/switchgear environments is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, capable of creating accurate documentation and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams onsite.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
