Role Overview
As a Finance Business Partner, you will be integral to a finance team deeply involved in advancing GovTech’s mission. You will act as a trusted advisor to division heads and senior management, blending financial acumen with the ability to simplify complex information into practical recommendations that guide organizational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full financial planning and performance cycle for one or more significant divisions or programs, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting aligned with the planning schedule.
- Collaborate closely with divisional and senior leaders to review business cases, assess financial viability, offer resource allocation advice, conduct scenario analyses, and communicate complex financial data clearly to support both strategic and operational decisions.
- Work alongside program teams to oversee project spending, monitor key milestones, proactively identify financial risks, and provide financial guidance to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and controls within assigned divisions, leading cost saving and efficiency initiatives.
- Carry out month-end and year-end closing processes, facilitate budget movements, analyze financial variances and operational indicators to generate actionable insights.
- Prepare revenue and expense accruals, manage grant recoveries, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and government financial policies.
- Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned to support the broader objectives of the finance team and organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting certification such as CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of five years of pertinent finance experience with proven success in finance business partnering roles.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret financial data clearly, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with dashboarding tools is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective engagement and influence with stakeholders who do not have finance backgrounds.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic, complex environment.
