Role Overview
We have an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst at our Lake County, Abbott Park, IL site. This role supports the Global Procurement Services unit by providing financial planning and analysis (FP&A) services. You will oversee key financial operations and deliver analytics crucial for strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis to support Global Procurement.
- Manage month-end closing and Latest Best Estimate (LBE) processes; conduct variance analysis and prepare commentary for submissions.
- Produce forecasting and analytical support for critical budget areas including payroll and major projects.
- Compile and report monthly actuals and LBE consolidations.
- Spot potential risks and opportunities, presenting insightful findings to leadership teams.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support special projects or initiatives.
- Assist in preparing annual plan presentations for senior executives including Vice President, Global Procurement, Corporate Controller, and CFO.
- Drive ongoing improvements and simplifications in financial and business workflows.
- Work independently and collaboratively, applying analytical and critical thinking skills in diverse scenarios.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Two to four years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and accounting.
- Strong abilities in analytical thinking, problem-solving, variance analysis, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient communication skills to clearly articulate complex technical information.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively in high-pressure environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial modeling and familiarity with systems such as Excel, Hyperion Essbase, and SAP.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $61,300 to $122,700 annually, though exact pay may differ based on location. Abbott offers comprehensive health and wellness benefits to support the well-being of you and your family.
