Role Overview
The Internal Communications Manager plays a vital role in crafting and managing internal communications that align with company initiatives, organizational changes, and business goals. Reporting closely to the Senior Director of Internal Communications, this position involves developing and implementing integrated communication strategies to ensure employees remain informed, aligned, and ready for upcoming changes. This role requires a blend of strategic insight and practical execution, demanding excellent writing ability, exceptional organization, and proficiency in juggling multiple projects simultaneously. A collaborative and adaptable communicator is needed to operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Director to design, plan, and implement communication strategies that support company initiatives from inception to execution and ongoing support.
- Manage high-profile communications including messaging on behalf of senior leadership and the CEO's office, ensuring precise, aligned, and timely dissemination.
- Engage with project teams, leaders, and stakeholders to comprehend goals and timelines and develop effective communication plans for events, product launches, new business initiatives, system rollouts, and organizational changes.
- Create, edit, and oversee a diverse range of communication materials such as internal emails, intranet articles, presentations, talking points, FAQs, and training documents.
- Ensure accurate and consistent delivery of communication across internal channels within established timelines.
- Coordinate schedules and milestones to keep communication activities integrated and progressing smoothly.
- Manage content workflows from draft through review, approval, and publication utilizing project management platforms like Workzone.
- Partner with the Change Management team to collect feedback, monitor engagement metrics, and compile reports to drive ongoing communication improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related disciplines, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Between 1 to 3 years of experience in internal communications, content or project management, change management, or coordination roles at a coordinator or specialist level.
- Exceptional writing and editing acumen capable of simplifying complex or technical content for employee audiences.
- Strong organizational capabilities with meticulous attention to detail and the aptitude to handle multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with comfort collaborating cross-functionally and engaging with different organizational tiers.
- Experience conveying messages on behalf of senior leadership and the CEO’s office with clarity and professionalism.
- Familiarity with internal communication platforms such as Slack or Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with project management software including Workzone preferred.
