Overview
Nua Healthcare Services is a prominent private healthcare provider in Ireland specializing in residential, mental health, and supported living services for children and adults with complex needs. We are currently inviting motivated and energetic individuals to join our team as Kitchen Assistants at our Meelin location in County Cork.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all relevant legislative requirements including the Health Act 2007, the Mental Health Act 2001 and its amendment 2018, and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures.
- Use company IT systems responsibly while safeguarding passwords and personal data, following GDPR regulations.
- Report any safety concerns regarding service users or patients to your line manager or appropriate authority.
- Maintain professionalism, courtesy, dignity, and respect towards patients and their families at all times.
- Assist in delivering a high-quality service in alignment with national and local policies and standards.
- Keep all work-related information confidential.
- Maintain high standards of personal and workplace hygiene following established policies and schedules.
- Perform delegated responsibilities related to direct care and daily living activities under supervision.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary teams, providing support for patients, transporting goods, and assisting various departments including nursing, therapy, and household services to ensure patient-centered care.
- Prepare, plate, and serve food and patient meals as instructed, complying with all HACCP and food safety guidelines.
- Collect cutlery, crockery, and glassware from patient areas when required.
- Report equipment faults promptly and ensure proper storage of all equipment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of one year of prior experience in a similar kitchen or food service role.
- Empathy and an understanding of the needs of others.
- Strong motivation to perform at one’s best with excellent organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with basic IT competency.
- Willingness to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Openness to learning and professional development.
- Reliability, dedication, and flexibility in work approach.
