The organization manages more than 440 care locations, including 27 hospitals, clinics, home care, and hospice services in both urban and rural settings, focusing on compassionate health, wholeness, and hope.

Opportunity Overview

The Patient Access Scheduling Representative ensures patients are scheduled accurately and efficiently for their appointments while verifying insurance details and authorizations. This position supports seamless patient experiences and partners with clinical and administrative personnel to optimize care coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange, confirm, and modify patient appointments following established protocols.
• Inform patients about necessary preparation steps to ready them for procedures.
• Work closely with referring and ordering healthcare providers to set up appropriate services.
• Collect and maintain patient demographics, insurance coverage, and financial information for correct registration.
• Verify insurance eligibility and required authorizations.
• Ensure patients are correctly identified and linked to their medical record numbers.
• Confirm all necessary orders, premedications, labs, implant details, and authorizations are complete.
• Acquire external medical documentation needed to support scheduled services.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and internal departments.
• Respond promptly and accurately to messages from patients and providers.
• Assist clinicians, technologists, and team members with scheduling and access requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Associate’s or technical degree in business or related field is preferred.
• At least one year of customer service experience, ideally in healthcare or similar service sectors.
• A minimum of one year working in patient access, revenue cycle, physician office, healthcare insurance, or related domains.
