Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Plant Manager to oversee a crucial manufacturing site in Seven Hills, New South Wales. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will hold complete responsibility for site safety, operational efficiency, workforce leadership, and financial results.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a "Safety First" environment throughout the site
- Supervise all site operations to meet production, quality, and cost goals
- Manage budgeted profit and loss and meet operational performance objectives
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, productivity enhancements, and reliability increases
- Oversee workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning
- Coordinate production scheduling, maintenance planning, and inventory control
- Support the Sales & Operations Planning process aligning operations with customer demand
- Foster strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality regulations
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience managing industrial operations at the Plant Manager level
- Extensive P&L and commercial management experience within production settings
- Proven track record of driving operational improvements, reducing costs and improving productivity
- Experience in fostering safety culture and leading cultural change initiatives
- Capability to lead large, interdisciplinary teams through periods of change and growth
- In-depth understanding of continuous improvement and operational excellence methodologies
- Background in heavy industrial, chemical, packaging, recycling, or process manufacturing sectors
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
Education and Credentials
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, or a related field
- Qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety are highly valued
- Leadership or management credentials are advantageous
