About the Role

Join Mayflower Software as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, where you will be responsible for managing critical production PostgreSQL databases used by enterprise clients primarily in healthcare and finance sectors. This position involves designing robust high-availability systems, leading disaster recovery initiatives, and fine-tuning database performance to minimize downtime costs. The role offers significant responsibility with a direct impact on business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and take ownership of production PostgreSQL environments ensuring stable and efficient operations.
• Design and implement high-availability configurations to maximize uptime and fault tolerance.
• Lead disaster recovery planning and execution to secure business continuity.
• Optimize database performance through advanced tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in live production settings.
• In-depth knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and crafting effective indexes.
• Expertise with backup processes, replication techniques, and configuring high-availability systems including Patroni, pgBouncer, and streaming replication.
• Experience managing PostgreSQL databases on cloud platforms such as AWS RDS, Aurora, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Oracle database administration.
• Strong grasp of database security measures, user access controls, and adherence to compliance standards.

Additional Information

• The position is fully remote and full-time.
• Experience level required is between 4 to 7 years.
• Eligible candidates include those with a B.C.A. in any specialization or B.Tech/B.E. in any discipline.
• The annual compensation ranges from 700000 to 1700000 INR.
