About the Role

Madison Hunt represents a premier private investment firm focused on advancing the energy transition, seeking an Investment Associate for its New York City office. The firm targets investments in diverse sectors fueling global energy transformation, such as power generation, renewable energy, battery storage solutions, grid upgrades, electrification, sustainable fuels, industrial decarbonization, digital infrastructure, and waste and water management.

The team follows a long-term, value-driven investment philosophy, collaborating closely with management teams to enhance and scale businesses through strategic, operational, and financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess new investment opportunities across targeted sectors.
• Develop and analyze sophisticated financial models.
• Perform comprehensive commercial, financial, and operational due diligence.
• Prepare materials and presentations for investment committee reviews.
• Support all phases of transaction execution from deal origination to closing.
• Collaborate directly with portfolio company leadership to implement strategic value creation plans.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 2 to 4 years of experience in investment banking or private equity roles.
• Exhibit advanced skills in financial modeling, valuation techniques, data analysis, and transaction execution.
• Show strong interest and understanding of energy transition, infrastructure, power utilities, or climate-related investments.
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, sound commercial judgment, and deep enthusiasm for the evolving energy sector landscape.
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset, able to thrive in a dynamic, lean, and collaborative environment while effectively managing ownership of project workstreams.
