About the Role
Aya Construction seeks a dedicated Procurement Engineer to join their team in Dubai, responsible for sourcing materials, subcontractors, and services essential for construction projects while ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Align procurement operations with project timelines and budgets.
- Analyze technical specifications and project demands to determine material and service requirements.
- Generate and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs), assess vendor proposals through technical and commercial evaluation.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on quality, cost-efficiency, and reliability of delivery.
- Engage in negotiations to secure favorable terms and pricing with vendors.
- Issue Purchase Orders and monitor timely receipt of goods and services.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and construction teams to oversee material necessities.
- Handle logistics, customs procedures, and scheduling to ensure on-time material arrival at sites.
- Maintain comprehensive procurement documentation, supplier databases, and material submittals.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and specific project criteria.
- Support cost estimations and procurement budgeting during bidding phases.
- Keep abreast of market trends, emerging suppliers, and industry developments to inform purchasing decisions.
- Prepare detailed procurement reports and conduct data analysis for management review.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in procurement principles, supply chain methodologies, and relevant software tools.
- Excellent negotiation and communication capabilities.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and effective organizational abilities.
- Understanding of legal and ethical procurement standards.
- Minimum of five years of experience in procurement-related roles.
